20 of the best vegan wines at Publix. In this post, I want to share with you the best vegan wines you can find in Publix stores. If you live in Florida, then you will have heard of Publix – the employee-owned grocery store (it’s like a CO-OP). But what exactly are the vegan wines available at Publix? In a string of posts, I have covered vegan wines from stores like Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, ALDI (including all 97 of their vegan wines), BevMo!, and Whole Foods Market. However, what are the options if you live in the “Sunshine State” and want to stack up on some vegan wine from Publix? Let’s find out.
Does Publix Carry Vegan Wine?
Publix does carry a wide selection of vegan wine. Publix carries vegan red wines such as Pinot Noirs, Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, Malbecs, and Zinfandels. Publix also carries vegan white wines such as Pinot Grigios, Sauvignon Blancs, and Chardonnay, as well as vegan Rosé wines.
But First, Why Is Wine Not Vegan?
First, a little recap. In my previous post, Why Is Wine Not Vegan – How To Know The Truth I talked about everything a vegan needs to know about wine. To give you a quick recap: most wines are not vegan. This is due to the common use of non-vegan fining agents (such as Isinglass, Egg Albumen, and Milk Proteins) in the clarification process. Fining agents are added to wines during clarification to clump together unwanted molecules, such as excess yeast and tannins which can then be easily removed during the filtration process.
And, yes, whilst there are vegan fining agents available, the most used remain the non-vegan versions.
How Can I Make Sure My Wine Is Vegan?
“How can I make sure the wine I buy is vegan?”. Now that is a great question. Wine labeling laws mean that winemakers are not required to list ingredients or fining agents used on wine bottles. This can make it nearly impossible to know what wines are and what wines are not vegan. Some good news is that winemakers are increasingly labeling their wines as “vegan” or “non-fined”. Sadly, the majority continue not to put anything on the labels.
This led me to want to write an article to help you sort through all these non-vegan issues and pick a vegan wine from your favorite grocery store – in this case, Publix.

Vegan Red Wines at Publix
Below are my picks for the 20 best vegan wines at Publix.
1. Our Daily Wines Red Blend
Our Daily Wines is an awesome wine brand whose wines are vegan, USDA certified organic, and sulfite free. There are just two varieties – red blend and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our Daily Wines also does boxed versions of both wines (if you want to read more about the best vegan boxed wines you can here: 5 Vegan Boxed Wines You Need To Try (& Those To Avoid). Both the Cabernet, red blend, and the boxed version of the red blend are all available from Publix. You can buy the bottle red blend from Publix here.
2. Menage A Trois Merlot
The only vegan merlot on this list comes from Menage A Trois. A velvety, smooth, plush wine brimming with blueberry, mocha, and plum notes – everything you want from a luxurious vegan merlot.
This Merlot is my go-to vegan wine for at home. It is generally affordable and of good quality. You can treat yourself to a bottle from Publix here.
3. Natura Malbec
The next vegan wine on this list is from Natura. Natura is an awesome all-vegan wine brand – they even have “vegan friendly” across the top of their website.
Natura wines are made from 100% organically grown grapes, which are certified organic in Europe and Chile (but not organic under the United States standards as a small number of sulfites are added). You can read more about organic vegan wines here – Best Vegan Organic Wines (And How To Know What To Look For).
You can try Natura vegan Malbec from Publix here.
There are also other Natura red wines available from Publix such as Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon to name a few.
4. Justin Wine Cabernet Sauvignon
Next up – another Cabernet Sauvignon. This time from Justin wine – all Justin wines are vegan. This Cabernet is well balanced with all the black fruit and spice notes you could hope for from a Cabernet.
You can try some of this balanced wine from Publix here.
5. Decoy Zinfandel
Now for the only Zinfandel on this list. This Zinfandel is from Decoy. You can recognize the bottles easily because they all have a duck on the front of them. Decoy has confirmed they do not use any animal products during making their wine – according to Barnivore.
You can try this medium-bodied Zinfandel from Publix here.
6. Trivento Malbec
Now another Malbec. This time from Trivento.
Trivento is an amazing Argentinian wine brand that recently received vegan certification. This Malbec has notes of vanilla, raspberry, and plum as well as sweet tannins and a velvety finish.
You can try this delicious Malbec from Publix here.
7. Prisoner Red Wine
You will recognize these bottles of wine because they have “mug shots” of prisoners on the front of them. Don’t let these put you off. Prisoner red wine makes a great full-bodied red blend wine and it is vegan.
Grab a bottle from Publix here.
8. Line 39 Pinot Noir
Line 39 red wines are vegan, but their whites are not. This wine brand is named after the 39th parallel which runs through the heart of California wine country and is home to Line 39.
You can try a bottle of this Pinot Noir, which has notes of berries, cherries, and soft tannins from Publix here.

Vegan White Wines at Publix
9. Kris Pinot Grigio
Not all Kris wines are vegan but their Pinot Grigio is. It is easy to spot in the grocery store as it has a green handprint on the bottle. This Pinot Grigio has notes of almond, lime, acacia flower, and honey (don’t worry it doesn’t contain honey though).
You can try a bottle of this Pinot Grigio from Publix here.
10. Bonterra Chardonnay
Next up is a Chardonnay from Bonterra. According to Bonterra’s website, all their white wines are vegan, but their reds are not as they are fined with egg white.
Bonterra’s chardonnay is certified organic and is filled with flavors of green apple, pear, citrus, and hints of French and American oak. You can treat yourself to a bottle from Publix here.
11. Prisoner Chardonnay
The second entry from Prisoner on the list. This time it’s Chardonnay. You can try this full-bodied oaky Chardonnay from Publix here.
